GASSNER, ELIZABETH BUSH, January 21, 1918 – March 1, 1956

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth (Beth) Bush Gassner, who died March 1, 1956 at Salinas, CA, were held at the Malad Third Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Hubert Gleed officiating and giving the obituary.

Prayer at the home was offered by James B. Jones. At the church, Margaret Laws played the prelude and postlude music; Thomas W. Richards offered the invocation; Thos. D. Evans, the benediction. Speakers were W.W. Thomas and Wm. H. (?), June and Gwendolyn Ward, Blair Gleed and Margaret Laws furnished the musical numbers. D. LeRoy Thomas dedicated the grave.

The casket bearers were Mort Ward, Roland Jones, Dee Fallis, George Fallis, Wayne (?) and Fay Evans.

Mrs. Gassner was born at Salt lake City, January 12, 1918, the daughter of David L. and Elizabeth Arlene Evans Bush. Her father died shortly after the child’s birth and Beth was reared by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John G. Evans, in Malad. She attended school at Malad and was graduated from Malad High School. She later attended Idaho State College at Pocatello and AC at Logan. She was employed by the Farm Security Adm. At Salt Lake and Richfield, Utah, and transferred to Hill Field Air Force Base. On Sept. 4, 1942 she married David C. Gassner of Cleveland, Ohio at Malad. After Mr. Gassner’s release from military service, the couple resided at Los Angeles, and Fresno, California.
