GARRETT, EMMA LU

Emma Lu “Bobbie” Garrett of Anchorage, Alaska passed away November 14, 1979 of a stroke.

She was born January 23, 1904 in Malad, Idaho. She moved to Alaska with her brother Victor Murphy in 1931. She spent two years in Anchorage then settled in Seward where she raised her family and maintained a business until 1959.

On September 18, 1951, she married Jack A. Garrett. They lived in Seward for eight years, moving back to Anchorage for the last 20 years.

Survivors include her husband Jack; daughters, Mrs. Bonnie Detwiler of Jerome, ID; Mrs. Donna Lykins of Franklin Furnace, Ohio; and step daughter, Shannon Garrett of Anchorage. Brothers and sisters: Victor Murphy of Anchorage; Robert Wilkinson of Montrose, CA; George Wilkinson of Salt Lake City; Garth Wilkinson of Provo; Dean Wilkinson of Phoenix, AZ; Terry Wilkinson of Carmel, CA; sisters, Alice Chappell of Pacific Grove, CA; Ethel Menist and Corene Thorn of Fresno, CA; Fay Tomlinson of Monterey, CA; Joy Matthews of San Jose, CA; and seven grandchildren.

Services were held November 17 in Anchorage, Alaska.
