Funeral held Monday for Eliza Blanche Pett

Funeral services were held Monday for Mrs. Eliza Blanche Wilcox Pett, age 68, who died Friday [Dec. 8, 1972] in Hill Crest Haven Nursing Home, Pocatello, of natural causes.

Bishop Myron Jones Jr. officiated at the services in Malad First LDS Ward Chapel and was one of the speakers. Other speakers were Bishop Howard Neal, Patriarch Moyle Facer and Ida Smith, who read the obituary. Don and Carol Eliason and Wells and Marsha Willie accompanied by Iris Hill, sang a selection. Prelude and postlude music was played by Pauline Buehler. Invocation was offered by John Barraclough; benediction, by Bishop Junius Crowther and the family prayer, by David Pett.

Concluding rites were conducted at Brigham City Cemetery where Raiford G. Benson offered the dedicatory prayer.

Flowers were cared for by members of Malad First Ward Relief Society, Merle Mills, president.

Casket bearers were Mark Valentine, Lee Valentine, Paul Mills, Roscoe Smith, William Colton Sr. and Roscoe Colton.

Benson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Pett was born April 6, 1904, at Salt Lake City, a daughter of Charles and Eliza Lion Wilcox. She was married to Martin D. Christensen Pett Sept. 18, 1942, in the Logan LDS Temple. Mrs. Pett attended Box Elder High School, Brigham City. She was an active member of the LDS Church.

Surviving are her husband, Malad; two sons, David M., Orem, Utah; R. James, Malad; a stepdaughter, Mrs. John (Mary) Barroclough, Boise; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Emery (Helen) Marriott, Garland, Utah; Mrs. Carol Stanger, Ogden.
