ELAINE EVANS BELL GODFREY

Elaine Evans Bell Godfrey, loving mother, grandmother and friend, passed awy peacefully February 29, 2012 of causes incident of age.

She was born October 10, 1920 in Malad, ID. Married Delen C. Bell in 1940, with whom she had four children. Later divorced. Married Calvin Earl Godfrey in 1960, later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple. They enjoyed many years of camping, water skiing and traveling with their family.

Mom was a wonderful homemaker, who made amazing pies. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served as a Relief Society president four times, as well as in other auxiliaries in the church. Mom was musically gifted with a beautiful voice, and a gift to play the piano by ear. Mom was a loyal friend and neighbor, and was the first one by your side when you needed her. She was feisty, fun, and her quick wit always made everyone laugh. She was wonderful mom and mother-n-law, who enjoyed a close relationship with her children. She was so proud of all her grandchildren. To say she was an amazing mom and grandma would be an understatement.

Preceded in death by her son, Craig Bell, her husband, Calvin Godfrey and her much loved sisters and brother, Maude, Ione, Denise, Gayle, Adele and Dave. She is survived by children: Beth Bell, Sharlene Goff (Randy), Ron Bell (Jeri), Steve Bell (Anna). She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

Service will be held March 3, 2012 at the LDS Church in Midvale. Interment, Mountain View Memorial Cemetery.

A special thanks to her many friends and neighbors for their loving help and concern, as well as a special thanks to the staff at Atria Assisted Living and IHC Hospice.

The Jazz will miss their biggest fan, and so will we.
