SERVICES TODAY FOR EDWARD J. THOMAS

Funeral services for Edward J. Thomas, 78, who died at the Oneida Hospital on November 13, 1955 after an illness of two years are being held today at the Malad First Ward with Bishop Howard Neal in charge.

Mr. Thomas was born at Malad, December 16, 1877, a son of David D. and Jane Lewis Roberts Thomas. Reared and educated at Malad, he was engaged in farming and sheep herding during his adult life. He married Ellen Woodland at Malad in 1937. They were later divorced. A member of the LDS Church, Mr. Thomas was also a former member of the Eagles, I.O.O.F. and Modern Woodmen of America.

Surviving are two brothers, John C. Thomas, Tremonton, and Robert L. Thomas, Malad.

Family prayer at the home was offered by LaMar Thomas; invocation, D. Dredge Thomas; benediction, A. LaVen Williams; dedicatory prayer, J. Guy Benson. Musical numbers were prelude and postlude, Charlotte Evans; vocal solo, Eldon Corbridge; vocal duet, June and Gwen Ward; vocal solo, Jenkin Palmer. Speaker was William H. Rutter and Bishop Neal gave the obituary.

Casket bearers were Andie Talbot, Jr., Harold Thomas, Lynn Thomas, Garry Talbot, Bill Thomas, Darrell Thomas.
