FUNERAL MONDAY FOR FORMER SAMARIA MAN

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin J. Thomas received word Wednesday of the death of his brother, Edward J. Thomas, 71, at Castro Valley, CA, on March 19, 1959 where he had been visiting his children.

Mr. Thomas was born at Samaria April 28, 1888, a son of William R. and Eleanor John Thomas. He married Mae Hamblin of Samaria and they made their home there until moving to Pocatello where he was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad Co. for about 35 years. He retired from the railroad in 1957 and has made his home in Ogden since that time.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Katherine Polley, El Cerito, CA; Mrs. Eleanor Edmondson, Edward Dale Thomas, Ogden; Lewis Thomas, Castro Valley, CA; two brothers, Alvin J. Thomas, Samaria; Albert E. Thomas, Salt Lake City.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist and Son Memorial Chapel in Ogden, directed by the Ogden Lodge No. 719, B.P.O.E., Roland Bills, Exalted Ruler, officiating. Interment will be at the Pocatello City Cemetery.
