OGDEN, Utah – Edward Evan Jones, 95, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 1994, at Ogden Care Center North, Ogden, Utah.
He was born September 21, 1899, in St. John, Idaho a son of Evan William and Mary Evans Jones. He married Elva Fern Nielsen June 30, 1926, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She died Sept. 16, 1981.
He lived in Malad, Idaho until 1942, moved to Pocatello, Idaho and lived there until 1983. He resided at Williamsburg Retirement Center in Logan, Utah for 11 years, and spent the last two months at Ogden Care Center North.
He worked for the Oneida County Road Department, State of Idaho Road Department, Pocatello Army Air Base and Bannock County Road Department, retiring in 1964.
Surviving are three children and their spouses, Edward LaVell (Evelyn) Jones of Salt Lake City, Utah, Chyral (Phil) Snyder of Fullerton, Calif., and J. Kline (Carrie) Jones, of Brigham City, Utah; 11 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five sisters, Mabel Butner, Alice Helpie, Vera Welker, Wilda Thompson and Thelma Rockwell.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 13, 1994, at 11 a.m. at the Olsen-Myers Mortuary in Brigham City, where friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday, Oct. 12, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Hyrum, Utah Cemetery.
