ELLIS NILE JONES

OGDEN – Ellis Nile Jones, 85, died Wednesday, August 10, 2005 in Washington Terrace.

He was born July 20, 1920 in Samaria, Idaho, a son of Simeon Allen and Lula P. Cordingley Jones.

In 1943, Ellis married Nellie Mae Pitts in Yuma, Arizona.

He served with the U.S. Army during World War II.

Ellis worked for Consolidated Aircraft in California for a number of years. He moved his family to Provo, Layton, Mtn. Green, and resided in Ogden for the past 12 years.

Ellis enjoyed woodworking, metal fabrication and tinkering in his garage.

Surviving are his wife of 62 years, “Mae”, Ogden; three sons, Ellis Wayne (B.J.) Jones, Laverkin, UT; Larry J. Jones, California; Jerry C. (Sherrie) Jones, Clearfield; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are one sister, Zenna Sorenson, Provo; and sister-in-law, Dorothy B. McGill, Atmore, AL.

Preceding him in death were his parents and 10 brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Lundquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

Family will meet with friends at the mortuary on Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
