Edith Hawkins Rainwater, 70, former Malad resident, died Friday, March 4, 1994, in Brawley, California.

She was born February 24, 1924, in Malad, and was educated in Malad and Nevada. She married Dennis Rainwater in 1953, and they owned and operated the Adobe Hacienda Restaurant in Brawley from 1959 until retiring in 1985. Mr. Rainwater died in 1990.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Jim Sanders, and one son, Robin, all of Brawley, California; brothers Ephriam and Farrell Hawkins of Salt Lake City, Utah; and one sister, Mrs. Joseph (Thella) Doss of Malad; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 10, at 11 a.m. in the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home in Malad, with burial following at the Malad City Cemetery.
