Former Malad man dies in Ogden Friday

A former Malad man, Earl H. Peck, 68, died Friday [Dec. 10, 1976] in the McKay-Dee Hospital.

He was born Sept. 2, 1908 at Malad, a son of Henry and Lucretia Jones Peck.

Mr. Peck married Isabel Harrison on Aug. 30, 1941 in Malad. She died Sept. 2, 1964.

He had been a machinist at the Defense Depot, Ogden, prior to his retirement in 1972, and had served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Peck was a member of the Ogden First Baptist Church where he had served as deacon and head usher. He was a member of the Five Points Lions Club.

He had lived in Downey and Malad prior to moving to Ogden 35 years ago.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Dale (Jeanette) Hartog[sic], Ogden; two grandsons; two sisters, Mrs. H.F. (Edna) Hilyard[sic], Murray; Mrs. Bernelsic Chambers, Roy.

Funeral services were held Monday morning in the Myers Mortuary Chapel, Ogden, with Rev. Harold Perkins of the First Baptist Church officiating.

Burial was in the Malad Cemetery with military rites being performed by the Ernest W. Jones Post of the American Legion, Malad.
