Arthur B. Peck Dies In Salt Lake City

Graveside services and military rites for Arthur Bywater Peck, 68, former Idaho state legislator, were held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery.

Mr. Peck died Wednesday [9 Nov 1966] at his Salt Lake City residence of natural causes.

He was born June 19, 1898, in Malad, a son of Charles and Annie Bywater Peck. He married Ida Osguthorpe in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on May 24, 1922.

He was a member of the Idaho legislature from 1936 to 1942, serving twice as Bannock County representative. He was Lava Hot Springs postmaster from 1946 to 1952 and was a past principal of the Driggs and Topaz elementary schools.

He attended Utah State Agricultural College and served in the U.S. Navy during both World Wars.

Survivors include his widow, four sons and four daughters, Arthur B., Jerry M., William S, Maury, Mrs. Betty Bell, Mrs. Kathleen Palmer, Mrs. Ginger Parker and Miss Nicky Peck, all of Salt Lake City; seven grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, D. L. Peck, Malad; James L. Peck and Mrs. Marie Cooper, both of Salt Lake City.
