Doyle McNight Nielson, 83, passed away Thursday August 31, 1995 in Malad, Idaho.

He was born October 28, 1911 in Brigham City, Utah, a son of Torval and Jessie Vilate Guyman Nelson.

He married Jean Marie Christensen, July 5, 1935 in Odgen, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt lake LDS Temple. She passed away October 12, 1978. He then married Velda Larene Brown Thompson Mcdonald, November 17, 1979 in the Salt lake LDS Temple.

He was born and raised in Brigham City, Utah and lived in this area during his youth. He later moved to West point for six years and then moved to Clearfield in 1944 to present.

He graduated from Box Elder High School and attended Utah State Agricultural College.

He was a member of the Davis County Sherriff’s Posse and served as treasurer during the late 40’s and 50’s. He loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting. He had a passion for farming and enjoyed motorcycle touring.

He was an electrician at Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 1963. He also drove school bus for Davis County and retired in 1978.

He is survived by his wife Velda, one son, D. Reed (Beverly) Nelson, Kaysville, Utah; six daughters, Margene Stevens and Nedra (Errol) Thomas, both of Clearfield, Utah; Laraine Beckner, Layton, Utah; Lynda (Karl) Ostler, South Jordan, Utah; and Judy (Les) Hadley, Green River, Wyoming; 27 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are one brother and two sisters, Don Nelson, Medford Ore.; LaDene Jeppson Perry, Utah, Rhonda Baldwin, Odgen, Utah.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie; brother, Nolan; two sisters, Nelda Poulsen and Leona Owens, and grandsons, Craig and Lyndon DeWinter.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 5, 1995 in Clearfield. Interment was in the Brigham City Cemetery.
