James Albert Nielson, 52, of Malad, died Thursday, April 6, in Malad of cancer.

He was born June 20, 1942, a son of Albert and Mary Facer Nielsen. He had lived in California, Oregon, and recently in Henderson, Nevada.

Jim loved to fish and hunt, and was avid gold miner in his spare time. He was a member of the Utah Gold Miners Association as well as the Northern Utah Prospectors.

He is survived by two sons; James Nielson Jr. of Klameth Falls, Oregon and Chris Nielson of Washington; a special friend, Marge Parker and her son, Bernie Parker; one granddaughter; four brothers: Wallace Facer of Malad, Rex and Larry Nielson both of Malad, Donald Nielson of Del City, Virginia; two sisters: JoAnn Redcloud of the Dales, Oregon, and Louise Hess of Plymouth, Utah.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Wayne and Ronald Nielson.

Graveside services were held Monday, April 10, at the Malad City Cemetery, with military rites by the American Legion Ernest W. Jones Post #65.
