DORTHEA JONES MORGAN
BRIGHAM CITY – Dorthea Jones Morgan passed away peacefully on Friday, December 15, 2000, in Brigham City.

She was born on March 20, 1912, a daughter of Harvey and Catherine Price Jones. She was reared and educated in Malad and married Max Morgan on April 4, 1935, in Spokane, Washington. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on November 5, 1953. They moved to Brigham City in 1938 where they have since made their home on south Main Street. Max passed away in 1995.

Dorthea was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, having served in ward and stake organizations. She has taken an active role in the community as member of Brigham Civic Club and Brigham Golf Club. She enjoyed her flowers and yard work as well as fishing, hunting, golfing, and bowling with the family. She was employed for many years at the Box Elder County Assessor’s office and retired in 1977.

She is the mother of five children: Donna (Rulon) Smoot, Connie (LeRoy) Craner both of Corinne, and Deverell (RaDene) Morgan, Harvey (Bonnie) Morgan, and Blynn Morgan of Brigham City. She has 21 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, Richard (Fay) Jones of Pleasant View, Utah, and two sisters, Lona Andersen, now of Sandy, and Wanda (Gene) Edwards of Malad.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 19, 2000, at the LDS Church on 5th South and 200 East in Brigham City. Arrangements were handled by Myers Mortuary, 205 South 100 East, Brigham City.

Interment followed at the Brigham City Cemetery.
