Donna Beth Jones Tillotson, (1924)

TILLOTSON, DONNA BETH, December 6, 1924 – October 27, 2006

Donna Beth Jones Tillotson, 81, of Pocatello returned to the heavens above Friday, October 27, 2006 following an illness.

Donna was born December 6, 1924 in Malad, Idaho, to John Jay and Armenta Richards Jones. She was the 8th of ten children. She was raised and educated in Malad, ID.

She enjoyed bike riding and dancing. In high school she also participated in volleyball and was part of the dance group.

Donna left high school to work at the arsenal plant in Ogden, UT, building bombs for World War II. In her spare time, she would go out dancing or roller skating with her friends.

Donna married Paul Tillotson September 1, 1945 and almost a year later they welcomed their first child. Their family continued to grow until their last child was born in 1961.

She worked in various clothing and variety stores, in a geriatric unit, as well as being a homemaker. After her husband passed away in 1972, Donna moved to the Bancroft/Chesterfield area and finished raising the two youngest children.

She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, word searches, cooking, and ceramics – taking many top awards for her talent in ceramic painting.

Donna enjoyed being with her family and especially enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed her trips to jackpot, even when she didn’t win.

Her smile and presence will be truly missed, but she will forever be in our hearts. We love you.

Donna is survived by her daughters: Linda Shipley, Denver, CO; Brenda (Jerry) Hulse, Bancroft, ID; Judy (Terry) Hoadley, Pocatello, ID; one son, Tom Tillotson, Pocatello, ID; two sisters, Elaine and Kay; nine grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She ws preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Diana Jo; two brothers; five sisters and one grandson.

Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, November 2, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Downard Funeral Home, Pocatello, ID. Interment will be at the Malad City Cemetery in Malad, ID.
