ALLEN TIGERT

SODA SPRINGS – Dr. Allen H. Tigert, 67, died May 4, 1981 at the Caribou Memorial Hospital.

He was born Feb. 24, 1914 at Dumas, MSI to Russell and Alice Pearl Humphreys Tigert.

He married Alice Middelkamp Sept. 15, 1943 at St. Louis, MO. He had lived in Soda Springs most of his life, except during the years spent in college, medical school and the military.

He graduated from Soda springs High School in 1931 from the University of Idaho in 1935 and the Washington University School of Medicine in 1939.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and flying was his greatest pleasure. He was a member of the Soda Springs Kiwanis Club, the Soda Springs Golf Club, the Masonic Lodge and the Americ an Legion. He was an elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Soda Springs. He was a member of the Bear River Medical Society, the Idaho State Medical Society and the American Medical Assoc. He was a diplomat of the American Board of Abnominal Surgeons.

He was a captain in the US Army, serving the Medical Corps during World War Ii. He was a member of the Soda Springs City Council from 1947-63 and 1970-73. In October, 1980 the Soda Springs airport was officially named after him.

Survivors include his wife; one son and two daughters, Allen Ray Tigert and Mrs. Tim (Alice Ann) Samuelson, both of Anchorage, Alaska, and Lynne Marie Tigert, Boise; two brothers, Dr. Russell Tigert and Dr. Mack Tigert, both of Soda Springs; three sisters, Mrs. Don (Charlotte) Salser, Soda Springs; Mrs. Don (Isabel) Robertson, Twin Falls, and Mrs. Cecil (Martha) Jones, Seattle, WA.

Services will be Thursday in the First Presbyterian Church in Soda Springs. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs.
