Dee Edward Williams, (1914)

WILLIAMS, DEE EDWARD – June 21, 1914 – June 2, 2003
Dee Edward Williams, 88, returned to his Heavenly Father and eternal sweetheart, Pearl, on June 2, 2003 in the Oneida County Nursing Home of natural causes.

Dee was born on June 21, 1914 in Malad to Edward Gleed Williams and Martha Blaisdell, the second of eight children. He was educated through eighth grade in the Malad Valley schools and lived there all his life. He married Pearl Facer on June 3, 1938 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were parents of four children: Bryan Dee, Logan, Utah; Paula Ann Welcker, Highland, Utah; Linda Kay Thomas, Montpelier, Idaho; and Julie Colleen Brock, Malad. Dee had one son, Paul Budge, Plummer, Idaho, from a previous relationship.

Dee loved people, the outdoors and animals. He was blessed with a bubbly, sensitive personality and loved to tell jokes to everyone he knew or didn’t know. He loved raising pure bred Herford cattle and selling the bulls every spring and fall. He farmed, logged and worked extremely hard on the ranch in Daniels. He enjoyed taking his grandchildren to change water or show off a new calf or colt. But most of all he loved being with his wife and family. He believed in being honest and forthright with all he knew. His word was as good as any contract.

He was a High Priest in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions including life-time home teacher, executive secretary, Sunday School presidency, MIA presidency, and Elder’s Quorum presidency.

De was preceded in death by his eternal companion, Pearl, who passed away October 31, 1998; his parents; and four brothers: Percy B. Williams, Pleasant View, Utah; Samuel Claude Williams, Malad; Glenn B. Williams, Malad; and Thayne (Sod) Williams, Arbon, Idaho.

He is survived by his five children, fifteen grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren; one brother Leon Williams, Darlington, Idaho; and two sisters, Faye Caldwell and June Jones, Malad.

Services will be held Friday, June 6 at 12:00 noon in the Malad LDS Sixth Ward Chapel, 400 North 200 West. Friends and family may call at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and on Friday at the funeral home from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery.
