CLYDE THORPE, 59, DIES NOV. 3 IN SALT LAKE CITY

Clyde Thorpe, age 59, of Clearfield, UT died Nov. 8, 1977 in Salt Lake City. Mr. Thorpe was born in Pleasantview, ID, June 17, 1918, the son of Thomas and Lucy Walker Thorpe.

He married Edna Jones July 24, 1940 in Ogden. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.

Mr. Thorpe was a graduate of Malad High School and attended the LDS Business College at Salt Lake City.

He was a member of the Clearfield 8th Ward where he served as high Priest, was a Ward and Stake Scout Master and a Counselor in the Elders Quorum.

He was employed at the Ogden Arsenal and Tooele Army Depot prior to his retirement.

Surviving are his father, Thomas of Brigham City; his wife, Edna of Clearfield; one daughter, Mrs. harry (Maurine) Balle, of SLC; three sons; Paul Gary of Las Vegas; Thomas Clyde of Clearfield and John B., presently serving a mission for the LDS Church in Rio De Janerio, Brazil.

Also surviving are two brothes and six sisters, Eugene of Ogden; Calvin of Brigham City; Mrs. William (Gladys) Evans, Pleasantview, UT; Mrs. Max (Phoebe) King, and Mrs. LaVern (Joyce) Colton, both of Malad; Mrs. Cleon (Lovina) Spencer of Silmar, CA; Mrs. Nolan (Bernice) Armstrong of Robin, ID and Mrs. Frank (Ione) Latour, Great Falls, MT.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Clearfield 8th Ward on November 12. Interment to follow in the Pleasantview, ID cemetery.
