Clarice Watson Lewis, 22 September 1913

Clarice Watson Lewis, 88, Malad area resident, passed away April 22, 2002 following a short illness.
She was born September 22, 1913 in Smithfield, UT, a daughter of Joseph Franklin and Mary Ann Pack Watson. She was raised and educated in Smithfield.

Clarice married Elmer J. Lewis on September 25, 1934 in Salt lake City, UT and they lived most of their married lives in St. John.

She was employed for 20 years as a cook for the Oneida School District.

Elmer passed away in 1983. She married Woodrow Peterson and they later divorced.

Clarice was talented in music, playing the piano by ear, and loved singing. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and bowling. She also served as a volunteer Pink Lady at the hospital.

She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed serving in various callings and attending the temple.

Clarice is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Reynold) Tripp of Malad; three sons, Darrell (Wanda) Lewis of Tremonton, UT; Terry (Norma Jean) Lewis of Hooper, UT; Steven Lewis of Layton, UT; 15 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; two sisters, Edith Jessop of Logan, UT; Afton Smith of Smithfield, UT. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Elmer, one brother, two sisters, three grandchildren, Lori, Darrelene and Katy Lewis, two great grandchildren, twins, Brady and Whitney Hamilton.

Funeral services will be held April 22, 2002 in the Malad LDS Stake Chapel. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery.
