Chester A. Eliason

ELIASON, CHESTER A., May 25, 1890 – June 26, 1975

Chester A. Eliason, 85, Holbrook, died Saturday in an Ogden nursing home of a short illness.

Mr. Eliason was born May 25, 1890 at Snowville, Utah, a son of August and Emma Anderson Eliason. He married Jeanie Cutler May 23, 1911 in Malad City. The marriage was solemnized October 3, 1912 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Mrs. Eliason died December 18, 1962.

He was a cattle rancher, an active member of the LDS Church, a member of the Idaho Cattleman’s Assoc. and a member of the Malad Valley Square Dancer’s Club.

Survivors include two sons and two daughters, Ray C. of Malad; Don C. of Holbrook, and Mrs. James (Norma) Burnett and Mrs. Glen (Marie) Minson, both of Ogden; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Bishop Wells Willie officiated at funeral services Tuesday in Malad LDS Stake Chapel. Family prayer was offered by kent Jones; invocation, Bert Eliason, and benediction, Reo B. Cutler. Speakers were Lona Chambers, who gave the obituary; Bishop Jerry Rose, Bishop Howard Neal and Bishop Willie. Special music included vocal duet, Foster Ipsen and Leora Brown; vocal trio, Helen Jones, Wanda Edwards and Miriel Dredge. Accompanists were Patsy Bybee and Iris Blaisdell, who also played prelude and postlude music.

At the Malad City Cemetery, dedicatory prayer was offered by D.G. Nelson.

Holbrook Ward Relief Society, Carol Eliason, president, cared for the flowers. Casket bearers were Gregory Burnett, Brooks Clark, Tim Edwards, John Minson, Paul Minson and Merlyn Ringel.

Benson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
