Mrs. Helorum Moon Died Saturday

Funeral serv ices for Mrs. Charlotte Harris Moon, 88, wife of the late Helorum Moon, who died at her home in Henderson Creek Saturday, were held at the Malad 2nd ward chapel Monday afternoon, Dec. 3, 1952 with Bishop T.A. John of Cherry Creek in charge.

Prayer at the home was by Leo Williams; Arch Harris gave the invocation and Ellis Harris the benediction. Speakers were Joseph A. Jones and Dr. Thos. W. Richards, Bishop John gave the obituary. Musical numbers were: song, Stillman Harris; violin duet, Mrs. Fern Willie and Mrs. Spencer Hill, accompanied by Mrs. Blanche Camp; song, Vereen John and Maisie Williams; song Howell Williams. The prelude and postlude were played by Mrs. Mateal Hendricks.

The grave was dedicated by J. Guy Benson.

A daughter of Joseph and Charlotte Green Harris, Mrs. Moon was born at Kaysville, Davis County, Utah, Oct. 31, 1864 and lived there until 1870 when the family moved to Woodruff in Oneida County. She lived there until she was married to Helorum Moon, Feb. 19, 1883. They made their home at East Portage for one year and then moved to Henderson Creek in the spring of l884 where she had since resided. Mr. Moon was buried just one week previous to Mrs. Moon’s death. A member of the LDS church, Mrs. Moon held many positions in its auxiliary organizations.

She is survived by the following sons and daughters: Elva E. Moon, Wm. E. Moon, Ira R. Moon and Mrs. Elizabeth M. Jones, all of Malad; Verl Moon, Ogden; Ralph E. Moon, Salt Lake City, and T. R. Moon, Seaside, Oregon; four sisters, Mrs. Paulette Smith, St. Anthony; Mrs. Eloise Lish, Salmon; Mrs. Alice Bullock, Mrs. Irene Bullock, McCammon; one brother, Oliver Harris, McCammon.
