Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Benson Funeral Home with Bishop Gene Edwards officiating for Mrs. Catherine Pierce Nielsen, age 89, who died Wednesday morning at Oneida Nursing Home of natural causes.
Mrs. Nielsen was born Oct. 28, 1884, at St. John, a daughter of Thomas and Nettie Morgan Pierce. She was married to J. David Nielsen, Oct. 28, 1905 at St. John. Mr. Nielsen died in February, 1943.
Mrs. Nielsen was a member of the LDS Church and of Daughters of Idaho Pioneers, St. John Station.
Surviving are two sons, Roy D., Idaho Falls; Ralph L, Ogden; a daughter, Mrs. Garth (Mae) Norris, Ogden; 13 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a brother, Evan Pierce, Idaho Falls; two sisters, Mrs. Margaret P. Camp, Mrs. Mary P. Thomas, Malad.
Friends may call at Benson Funeral evening and Saturday prior to services. Burial at St. John Cemetery will be directed by Benson Funeral Home.
