Carmen Cole dies at Arimo

Carmen Catherine Naef Cole, 71, died at her home Monday evening, June 22 (1981).

She was born March 4, 1910, at Grant Ward near Downey to Charles D. and Katherine Scheibel Naef.

She grew up and was educated in Grant Ward and Downey. The family was engaged in farming.

She married R. E. Cole July 3, 1928, in Logan, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized that same year in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

They lived in Marsh Center, McCammon and Downey. In 1957 they moved to Arimo and have since resided there.

She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served as a teacher in MIA, Primary and Sunday School. For many years she served as work director in the Relief Society program. She enjoyed handiwork and sewing. She had also been a faithful visiting teacher for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Arimo; two sons and four daughters; Robert Wayne Cole, Montpelier; Ronald Charles Cole, Fielding, Utah; LaDean C. Gunderson, Idaho Falls; Mrs. Dean (Lois) Johnson, Blackfoot; Mrs. Grant (Donna) Burke, Pocatello, and Mrs. Don (Alice) Voss, Moses Lake, Wash.; four brothers and five sisters, Don Naef, Susanville, Calif.; Webster Naef, Alpine, Utah; Seymore Naef and Ralph G. Naef, both of Salt Lake City, Utah; Mrs. Mark (Delores) Andersen and Mrs. Bill (Verda) Henry, both of Pocatello; Mrs. Thomas (Laurine) Hancock, Downey; Mrs. Bill (Maurie) Frazier, Great Falls, Mont., and Mrs. Dean (Florence) Campbell, McCammon; 30 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers and two sisters.

Services were held Friday, June 26, in the Arimo LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Verlin Andrews officiating.

Burial was in the Arimo Cemetery.
