CALVIN WILLARD RAY

Calvin Willard Ray, 59, McCammon, died early Sunday morning [January 24, 1982] at his home following an illness.

He was born March 21, 1922 at McCammon, the son of Joseph Andrew and Charlotte Green Ray and was reared at McCammon where he graduated from high school. He attended Idaho State College. On June 8, 1942 he married Alice Grover at Pocatello and this marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS temple in Idaho Falls on June 8, 1956.

Mr. Ray was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Air Force from 1942-46. He was a carpenter and self-employed in construction work. He was a high priest in the McCammon LDS First Ward, and had served in the bishopric, M.I.A., Sunday school and scouting. He was an avid outdoorsman and greatly enjoyed sports.

Survivors include his McCammon wife and four sons, C. Dean and Duff L., both of Skagway, Alaska, and John A. and Chad B., both of Santa Ana, Calif., and two daughters, Mrs. Mont (Lana) Boyce, McCammon, and Jayne Sue Ray, Salt Lake City, Utah; a brother, Ferris G. Ray, Phoenix, Ariz., and two sister, Lucile Walker, Tucson, Ariz., and Faye Mohney[sic], Port Orchard, Wash.; and 11 grandchildren. His parents and three sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. in the McCammon LDS Ward chapel. Burial will be in the Norton Cemetery at McCammon. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time at the McCammon Ward chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Manning Funeral Chapel.
