THORPE, BRENT H., September 9, 1943 – August 18, 2008

BRIGHAM CITY – Our loving husband, dad, grandpa, brother and friend, Brent H. Thorpe, 64, passed away on August 18, 2008 at his home from cancer. He was born September 9, 1943 in Malad City, Idaho, a son of Samuel Grant and Gloria Hall Thorpe. Brent graduated from Box Elder High School. He went to work for American GeoPhysical Oil Exploration and traveled all over the Western United States. He then returned to Ogden and went to work at Defense Depot of Ogden from where he retired. Following his retirement he went to work for Brigham City Corporation, Parks and Recreation.

Brent married Donna Hoskins on January 11, 1965 in Cody, Wyoming. Material things in life weren’t important to Brent, but providing and caring for his family was his joy. Brent overcame his addiction to alcohol and his family is very proud of him for that. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horse racing, traveling and spending time with his family.

Surviving is his wife, Donna, Brigham City; one son, Gary W. Thorpe, Tooele; one daughter, DeOnn (Ace) Clark, Perry; two grandchildren, Taylor and Kasey Clark, Perry; two brothers, Lonnie Thorpe, Roy; Tim Thorpe, Plymouth; one sister, Louise Lokken, Brigham City.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Gary W. Thorpe, one nephew, Brian Thorpe and many friends.

Memorial services will be held on August 23, 2008 at Gillies Funeral Chapel, Brigham City.
