Blanche Evans Olofson

Blanche Evans Olofson, 72, died September 20, at Pasadena, California, following an illness. She was a former resident of Lava Hot Springs.
Born to David Henry and May Coffin Evans on July 11, 1911, at Arimo, she attended the University of Idaho and then taught school in the Lava Hot Springs area.
She married Doyle Olofson, in Malad on May 24, 1933. They made their home in Downey before moving to Pasadena, California. She has lived there for the past 35 years. Her husband died June 15, 1974.
A member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she enjoyed traveling and gardening, especially flowers.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Keith (Loyce) Powell, Midvale, Utah; two brothers, David Evans, Coronado, Calif.; Claude E. Evans, Santa Maria, Calif.; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Lava Hot Springs Cemetery with Jim Abbott of Swan Lake officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Manning Funeral Chapel.
