
Berthel E. Crowther (Birth 30 Nov 1923/Death 20 Apr 1987)
OREM — Berthel E. Crowther, 63, of Orem, formerly of Malad, Idaho, died Monday, April 20, 1987, at his home of a heart attack.
He was born Nov. 30, 1923, in Ma¬lad, a son of Edward N. and Estella Evans Crowther.
He was reared in Malad and gradu¬ated from Malad High School.
He filled a short term in the military service from 1945 to 1946, and moved to Logan where he attended Utah State University.
He married June Justesen on Jan. 23, 1946, in the Logan LDS Temple. They lived in Logan while he continued his studies. They returned to Malad where they lived until 1973 when they moved to Orem.
He was a high priest in the LDS Church and had been a president of the Seventies, high priest group leader and a home teacher.
He was active in the Lions Club and fulfilled many civic responsibilities.
He was a trucker and manager for Crowther’s Brothers Milling Co. in Ma¬lad and was manager of a mobile home park in Orem at the time of his death.
Surviving are his widow of Orem, three sons, Barry E. Crowther, Provo; Kim D. Crowther, Yorba Linda, Calif.; Keven J. Crowther, American Fork, Utah; nine grandchildren.
Also surviving are one brother, W. Gordon Crowther, Malad; five sisters, Mrs. Richard (Margaret) Harris, Elwood, Utah; Mrs. Eyre (Valene) Turner, Logan; Mrs. Reed (Lucille) Hawse, Mapleton, Utah; Mrs. Richard (Lenore) Bassett, Shaffer, Calif.; Mrs. Woody (Sharon) Jones, Council, Idaho.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the 106th LDS Ward Chapel in Orem.
Friends may call tonight from 7 to 9 at the Sundberg Olpin Mortuary in Orem and at the church one hour prior to services.
Interment in the Pleasantview Cemetery near Malad later on Thursday.
