Arthur Jerome “Jerry” Fagnant

FAGNANT, ARTHUR JEROME, August 15, 1931 – December 16, 1984

LAVA HOT SPRINGS – Arthur Jerome “Jerry” Fagnant, 53, Lava Hot Springs, died December 16, 1984 in Bannock Regional Medical Center following an apparent heart attack.

He was born August 15, 1931 at lava Hot Springs, to Arthur Joseph and Kathryn Ann McGuinn Fagnant and was reared at lava Hot Springs. He graduated from Lava Hot Springs High School in 1949 where he excelled in sports. He also attended Idaho State University and was a veteran of the Korean War.

On December 31, 1963, he married Marie M. Mayer in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He worked at Simplot Mine for three years and was a truck driver for Hood Trucking Corp. of Boise for 25 years. He also farmed with his father and brother.

He was a member of the Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 88, and the Rodeo Cowboy Assn. and was a Brahma bull rider. He enjoyed sports.
Survivors include his wife, Lava Hot Springs; his mother, lava Hot Springs; a sister, Mrs. Arlin (Ruth Ann) Olson, lava Hot Springs; a brother, Gene Fagnant, lava Hot Springs; three nephews and a niece. His father preceded him in death on January 27, 1964.

Recitation of the Holy Rosary was December 18 at the Kathryn Fagnant residence at Lava Hot Springs. Mass of the Christian Burial will be Wednesday at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church at Lava Hot Springs with Father Roger P. Letourneau officiating. Burial will be in the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery with military graveside rites by the American Legion Post 88 conducted by Fred Hinz, commander.
