Arlene Lois Ralphs, 65, of Rockland, Idaho, died Tuesday morning, September 24, 1991, from leukemia.

She was born December 3, 1925, at Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Elmer Donald and Amy Viola Torstenson[sic]. She attended schools first in Wisconsin, and later in Chicago, Illinois, graduating from Oak Park High School in Oak Park, Illinois.

She married John Byron Gunn of Beaver, Utah, and had six children. They were later divorced. She married Ray C. Ralphs of Rockland, Idaho, on June 30, 1978, in Vancouver, Wash. They were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Arlene enjoyed her large family, golf, fishing, playing games, trips to the cabin at Henry’s Lake, and reading good books. Her fun-loving spirit was enjoyed by her family and many friends. She was a sweet and giving wife, mother and grandmother.

Arlene was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked in the Primary, the Young Women’s Organization and Relief Society.

She is survived by her husband, Ray C. Ralphs; one daughter and five sons, Barbara and Ray Chandler of Salt Lake City, Utah, Tom and Judy Gunn of San Diego, Calif., Sam and Vonda[sic] Gunn of Vancouver, Wash., John and Leslie Gunn of Brigham City, Utah, Robert and Amy Gunn of Taipei, Taiwan, and Roger and Tammie Gunn of Kaysville, Utah; also survived by one stepson and stepdaughter, Brad and Lisa Ralphs of Rockland, and Sandra and Roland Barnard of American Falls; three sisters, Vera Reynolds of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Muriel Weaver of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Ruth Bahlke[sic] of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. She has 29 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Grace.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 28, 1991, in the Rockland LDS Chapel, with Bishop Steve May conducting. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Davis Mortuary in American Falls, and Saturday from noon to 12:45 p.m. at the Rockland Chapel. Interment will be at the Valley View Cemetery, Rockland. Donations can be made in memory of Arlene to the Rockland Ward Missionary Fund.
