FUNERAL HELD TUESDAY FOR ANNA MAE THOMAS

Mrs. Anna Mae McAllister Thomas, age 81, died Sept. 17, 1977 in the Oneida County Hospital of a short illness.

She was born April 18, 1896 in Malad, a daughter of John and Eleanor Jones McAllister.

She married Daniel W. Thomas on March 5, 1919 in Malad. She was a graduate of Hollywood High School, and was graduated from nursing training at Santa Monica, CA.

She was a member of the LDS Church and the native Daughters of Idaho Pioneers.

She was past president of the American Legion World War I Auxiliary, and a member of the World War II War Mothers.

Surviving are her husband of Malad, two sons and three daughters, D. Neal Thomas of San Jose, CA; Jess M. Thomas of Hyrum; Mrs. Merlin (Theda) Hughes of Clearfield; Mrs. Max (Anna Laure) Johnson of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Dean (Ila Mae) Smith of Farmington.

Also surviving are 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Bray of Larksburg, CA.

Funeral services were held Sept. 20 at the Malad First LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Gene Edwards officiating.

Family prayer was offered by Dan Neal Thomas at the Benson Funeral Home. At the chapel, jess Thomas gave the invocation. Delivering the obituary was Bryan Thomas. Speaker was Bishop Wesley Crowther and Bishop Edwards gave remarks.

Vocal selections were rendered by Helen Condie and Helen E. Jones. Patsy Bybee played prelude and postlude music and accompanied. Benediction was asked by Grant Jones.

Concluding rites were held at Malad City Cemetery, where Max Johnson offered the dedicatory prayer.

Overseeing floral arrangements were the St. John Relief Society, World War I Auxiliary and the War Mothers.

Casket bearers were Allen Thomas, Gary Johnson, Dan Hughes, Jonathan Thomas, Craig Smith and Jeff Hughes.
