Ann Tate Thomas, (1917)

THOMAS, ANN T., July 17, 1917 – February 7, 2008

Ann Tate Thomas, 90, passed away February 7, 2008 at Our House of Tremonton in Tremonton, Utah. She was born July 17, 1917 in Pocatello, ID to Howard Jarvis Tate and Annie Wanstreet Tate, the youngest of five children. She attended school in Crystal and Pocatello, ID. She lived on the family ranch in Crystal where she learned the value of hard work. She was wonderful cook and was famous for her home made rolls and pies, but her true love was to be outdoors. She had a green thumb and her garden amazed everyone. Ann loved horses, riding for cattle and her special dogs. Tony and Tune were a couple of nicknames given to her by Uncle Charley. Ann loved to dance and told stories of going to the one room school house for dances on Saturday nights.

She married Wayne Morgan (Little Cowboy) Thomas in Blackfoot, Idaho on October 2, 1939. They had three children: Garry Lee (Rose Mary) Thomas of Pocatello; Robert Wayne (Karen Wharton) Thomas of Malad, and Lou Ann (Jeff) Thomas of Malad. She has twelve grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by Robert Wayne Thomas, son; Wayne M. Thomas, husband; Denise Thomas Grote, granddaughter, Mat Thomas, grandson; her parents; her brother Charles (John) Tate; sisters: Wilma Hoffman, Vera Hubbard, Virginia (Ginger) Wrensted.

Funeral services were conducted February 13 at the Horsley Funeral Home. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
