Ann J. Owens, 82, former Oneida County resident, died Sunday at the McKay Dee Hospital
She was born Dec. 8, 1900, at St. John, Idaho to John L. and Margery Tovey Jones. She married Sylvester T. Owens on Nov. 15, 1920. Their marriage was solemnized at the Logan LDS temple on Dec. 17, 1964.
She was a member of the LDS Church and was active as a Relief Society visiting teacher.
She worked at the Ogden Defense Depot and Utah Knitting Mills. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and World War 1 Auxiliary.
Surviving are three children: Ruth J. Rupp, Pocatello; Margery O. Berube, Ogden, Utah, and John Wayne Owens, Simi Valley, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and the following brothers and sisters: Cornelius Jones, Nellie Richards, Hazel Lusk, Jane Jones and Fay Thomas, all of Malad; and Margery Shoemaker, Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by her husband and by an infant son.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Lindquist Mortuary, Ogden. Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday from 7 to 9 .m. and one hour prior to services. Burial will be at the Malad City Cemetery.

Mrs. Ann Jones Owens, 82 of 1135 Douglas, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 1983, at the McKay-Dee Hospital
She was born Dec. 8, 1900, in St. John, Idaho, a daughter of John L. and Margery Tovey Jones.
She married Sylvester T. Owens on Nov. 15, 1920, in Malad, Idaho. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on Dec. 17, 1964. He died Nov. 14, 1974.
She was a member of the Ogden 62nd LDS Ward. She was active in the Relief Society and had been a visiting teacher for many years.
She was reared and educated in Malad and moved to Ogden in 1943.
She had worked at Defense Depot Ogden and Ogden Utah Knit.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the World War 1 Auxiliary.
Surviving are one son and two daughters: John Wayne Owens, Simi Valley, Calif;, Ruth J. Rupp, Pocatello, Idaho; Margery O. Berube, Ogden; 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are one brother and five sisters, Cornelius Jones, Malad; Nellie Richards, Malad; Margery Shoemaker, Salt Lake City; Hazel J. Lusk, Malad; Jane Jones, Malad; Faye J. Thomas, Malad.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist and Sons Colonial Chapel in Ogden with Bishop A. Don Stephens of the Ogden 62nd Ward officiating.
Friends may call at the mortuary Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment in the Malad City Cemetery.
