ALTA LETITA YEARSLEY RAYMOND
Alta Letita Yearsley Raymond, 87, of Santa Anna, California, formerly of Malad, Idaho, passed away peacefully at the home of her son Edward, January 7, 2000.

She was born in Woodruff, Idaho, the daughter of Julia Ann Gibbs and Nathan David Yearsley. She was raised and educated in Woodruff, Idaho. She was employed in Salt Lake City and there she met and married Charles Raymond. She had one son, Edward Raymond.

After the death of her husband, Alta made her home in Malad.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in several positions.

Alta loved to walk and outpace anyone walking with her. She loved to read and she studied the scriptures daily. She was a kind and gentle person. No unkind work ever passed from her lips. She was a person without guile.

When Edward’s wife passed away, he asked his mother to live with him in his new home in California. Alta lived with him for the last few years.

Alta is survived by her son, Edward; two grandchildren, Don Raymond and Darlene Azar; and three great grandchildren all of California.

She is also survived by her brother, Dee R. Yearsley of Brigham City, Utah, and many nieces and nephews who all loved and respected her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Ruthinda and May, and two brothers, Clifford and Karl.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 15, at 12 noon at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 West 300 North, Malad, Idaho.

Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services.

Burial will be in the Brigham City Cemetery, Brigham City, Utah.
