YEARSLEY, EARL MELHUS TEETER – May 31, 1931 – September 25, 2003

Earl Melhus Teeter Yearsley, age 72, died September 25, 2003 at the Veterans Hospital, Salt Lake City, Utah after a valiant fight with cancer.

Born May 31, 1931 in Omaha, NE to Louis and Jessie Teeter who later divorced. Jessie met and married Gerald Yearsley and moved her family to Malad, ID where Earl met Selma Williams. They were married in the Logan Temple, May 4, 1951 and became lifelong companions of 52 years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He spent his working hours in insurance, sales and vacuum repair business where his skills, talents and love of people could shine. He had a great love for poems and had memorized six hours of poetry. He always had a joke to tell anyone who would listen. He was a high priest in the LDS Church and loved teaching the gospel. He spent 15 years of loving service in the Salt Lake Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Selma Williams Yearsley; daughters, Nancy Yearsley, Christine Spencer (Rick), Betty Persins (Mark), Marilee Hughes (Garry), Janice Korhonen (Jon); sons Gary (Pam), Grant (Linda), Paul (Debbie), Dan (Debbie); 31 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Louis; sister, Belva; and grandson Michael Yearsley.

Services Tues., Sept. 30, 11 a.m. Riveria LDS Ward chapel. Interment, Malad City Cemetery, Malad, ID.
