SERVICES AT POCATELLO FOR MRS. RUTH THOMAS

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Downard Chapel in Pocatello for Mrs. Ruth Thomas, 61, Pocatello, who died March 1, 1966 at her home after a long illness.

The Rev. Jo Ausin Lininger of the First United Presbyterian Church officiated at the services. Burial was in the family plot at mount Moriah Cemetery.

Born April 8, 1904 at Galesburg, IL, she was the daughter of Roy and Mary Keenan Martz. She moved to Pocatello with her family in 1912 and attended school there.

She was employed in the Bannock County Clerk’s office and Union Pacific Railroad office and for many years worked for T.H. Gathe, Sr. Later employers were the M.T. Deaton Co. and T.H. Gathe, Jr. in the Gathe Investment Co. She retired in 1960 due to ill health.

She was married to Roy Anthony on Nov. 3, 1923. He died at Pocatello on April 15, 1946. On May 3, 1947, she was married to G.R. (Jim) Thomas in Dillon, Montana.

She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Pocatello; Ruth Chapter No. 3, Order of Eastern Star; Palm Leaf Circle, No. 19, Neighbors of Woodcraft; Daughters of the American Revolution and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Union Pacific Oldtimers Club No. 15.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. W. Dean (Dorothy Lee) Worley, Pocatello; a brother, George Martz, Pocatello; a sister, Iva Houtz, Boise; three grandchildren.
