FUNERAL WEDNESDAY FOR ANN R. THOMAS
Funeral services were held in the Malad Third LDS Ward chapel June 20 for Mrs. Ann Reynolds Thomas, 88, who died in a Tooele hospital June 18, 1956.
Bishop Hubert Gleed conducted the services and gave the obituary and remarks. Speakers were Thomas D. Evans and Dr. Thomas W. Richards. The Relief Society singing mothers sang one song and Mr. and Mrs. J. Guy Gleed presented a vocal duet. Fern Willie also played a violin solo. Family prayer was offered by J. Guy Gleed and D. LeRoy Thomas gave the invocation. Benediction was given by William W. Thomas and William Henry Thomas gave the dedicatory prayer.
Third Ward Relief Society was in charge of flowers and relatives and friends acted as casket bearers.
Ann Reynolds Thomas was born July 15, 1867 in Myrther, South Wales, a daughter of John and Catherine Reynolds.
She married William H. Thomas on March 4, 1883 in the Logan LDS Temple. They lived in Malad where Mr. Thomas was Bishop of the LDS Second Ward. He died November 1, 1931. Since that time, Mrs. Thomas has lived with a daughter, Mrs. H.H. Rose in Salt lake City, and a son, Paul Thomas in Tooele.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of the LDS Church and had been president of the YWMIA and first counselor in the Relief Society in Malad.
She is survived by two sons, W.H. Thomas, Ogden; and Paul Thomas, Tooele; two daughters, Mrs. H.H. Rose, Salt Lake City, and Mrs. A.V. Zabriskie, Ogden; ten grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
