MRS. ANN J. THOMAS DIES WEDNESDAY

Mrs. Ann Jenkins Thomas, 77, died at the Oneida County Hospital, Wednesday afternoon following a heart attack.

Mrs. Thomas was born at Samaria, Idaho, September 28, 1876, a daughter of John and Mary W. Jenkins. She was reared at Samaria and attended school there. On January 1, 1896, she was married to James B. Thomas and nine children were born to them. Mr. Thomas died Dec. 26, 1943. Two of their children, Joyle and Ann Thomas, preceded the parents in death.

A member of the LDS Church, Mrs. Thomas was active in the Samaria Relief Society and Primary. Since 1923, Mrs. Thomas had made her home in Malad.

Survivors include the following sons and daughters: Julian Jenkins, Samaria; James J. Thomas, Seattle, WA; Jess J. Thomas, Malad; Eleanor J. Alley, Salt Lake City; Mary W. Zundel, Malad; Earl J. Thomas, Washington, D.C.; Jennie R. King, Seattle, WA; Ruth Hozos, Rome, Italy; one brother, John W. Jenkins, Samaria, one sister, Kathryn Freeze, Pocatello; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Malad Second Ward LDS chapel, 2 p.m., Saturday, July 31, 1954 under the direction of the Benson Funeral Home.
