Owen Sweeten dies Thursday in Centerville
Owen Raymond Sweeten, 49, died Sunday, February 3, at Centerville, Utah of Cancer.
He was born December 16, 1930, at Holbrook, Idaho to Colen Hagle and Mary Ann Casper Sweeten.
He received his early education at Holbrook and Malad, Idaho. He served an LDS mission to Australia and served with the U.S. Army in Korea.
He married Mary Louise Helton, October 23, 1958, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a graduate of Brigham Young University and an employee of U.S. Veterans Administration Hospitals in Des Moines, Iowa; Huntington, W. Va.; Augusta and Dublin, Georgia and Tooele Ordinance Depot, Utah.
He was a high priest in the LDS Church and has served as High Council member, Ward Clerk and Bishop’s Counselor.
Survivors include his wife, three sons, Derek Owen, Blake Adam, Micheal James, of Centerville; mother, Mrs. Mary C. Sweeten, Malad; nine brothers and sisters; Colen, Boise; Mrs. Grant (Nellie) Christophersen, Mrs. Lloyd (Florence) Hubbard, Elbert, Garth, Malad; Mrs. Steven (Fay) Cottle, West Point; George, Kaysville; Cecil, Bountiful; Lloyd, Provo.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 7, at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E., bountiful, Utah. Burial will be at the Malad City Cemetery at approximately 3:00 p.m. Thursday.
