Funeral Scheduled Friday at noon for Willard R. Smith, 82

Willard Richard Smith, age 82, of Holbrook, died Monday, Mar. 29, in the Oneida County Hospital of a short illness.

Mr. Smith was born July 23, 1893 in Fielding, Ut., a son of Willard R. and Melissa Ann Packer Smith.

He married Laura McIntosh Dec. 23, 1914 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.

An active member of the LDS Church, he served a mission to the Southern States in 1912-1914
and served in the Holbrook ward bishopric several years.

Survivors include his widow, Holbrook; two sons and three daughters: Reed M. Smith, Malad; Willard Mac Smith, Ogden, Utah; Mrs. Joe (Marjorie) Steed, Stone; Mrs. Merrill (Imogene) Durfee, Fullerton, Calif.; Mrs. DeLone (Verona) Arbon, San Diego, Calif.; 24 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; four brothers and three sisters: S.L. Smith, Karl Smith, Mrs. George (Maude) Burton, all Malad City; Lot Smith, Salt Lake City; Bryan Smith, Bountiful, Utah; Mrs. Joseph (Nan) Bennett and Mrs. Ray (Velma) Wight, both Ogden, Utah.

Funeral service will be Friday at noon in the Malad Stake LDS Chapel with Bishop Wells Willie officiating.

Friends may call at Benson Funeral Home Thursday evening and Friday before service. Burial will be in the Holbrook Cemetery.
