Funeral Monday For Wm. H. Smith

Funeral services for William Henry Smith, who died October 9 at Downey, Calif., were held Monday afternoon at the Malad Second ward chapel with Bishop Myron Sorensen officiating and giving the obituary.

Prayer at the Funeral Home was offered by J. Guy Benson.

At the church, the invocation was offered by Thos. D. Evans; benediction, Heber C. Kimball, Salt Lake City. Prelude and postlude music was played by Betty Crowther with Thos. Jones and Jenkins L. Palmer providing musical numbers. Thomas W. Richards was the speaker and Heber C. Kimball dedicated the grave.

Mr. Smith was born June 7, 1888 at Salt Lake City. He married Effie J. Evans in 1910. They lived in Malad 10 years before moving to Brigham City, where they resided for two years and then moved to Los Angeles, Cal.

Survivors include his widow, four sons, Vern E. Smith, Pasadena, Calif.; Gomer H. Smith, Downey, Calif.; Clarence J. Smith, Montebello, Calif.; Ralph L. Smith, Rivera, Calif.; one daughter, Vera M. Booker, Downey, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, three great grandchildren; five sisters and three brothers who all live in Utah.
