Funeral Wednesday For Jake Richards

Bishop G. Max King conducted funeral services Wednesday at Malad Second LDS ward for Jacob Thomas Richards, age 93, who died Friday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Marlin (Theo) Clark in Salt Lake City.

Family prayer was offered by Lynn Alder; the invocation, by Frank Telford, and the benediction, by Earl Burg. Speakers were Ralph W. Harding and Dr. Thos. W. Richards, who also read the obituary. Vocal solos were sung by Eldon Corbridge and Keith Evans, accompanied by Margaret Laws, who played the prelude and postlude, and Mrs. Evans.

Flowers were carried by relatives and friends, and casket bearers were George Richards, Fredrick Jones, Jim Chivers, Kenneth Henderson, Frank Telford and Earl Burg Raiford Benson offered the dedicatory prayer.

Benson Funeral Home directed interment at Malad City Cemetery.

Mr. Richards was born Oct. 29, 1868, at Malad, a son of Thomas W. and Charlotte Thomas Richards.

He married Ruth Chivers Dec. 9, 1897 at Malad. She died in 1932.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was a farmer and a lifelong resident of Malad Valley.

Survivors include one son, Bud Richards, Malad; two daughters, Mrs. Marlin (Theo) Clark, Salt Lake City; Mrs. R. E. (Jessie) Rosemont, San Francisco; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
