Funeral Rites For Hyrum Richards

SAMARIA – Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for Hyrum Richards, 65, who died at a Salt Lake City hospital Friday [March 4, 1949]. Bishop Carl Evans presided and gave the obituary. Jessie John played the prelude and postlude. Prayer at the home was offered by Hubert Gleed; invocation, Sam Williams, and benediction, David Hughes. The speakers were D. M. Price and J. M. Isaacson. Musical numbers consisted of a vocal solo by Mrs. Ellen Williams; duet, Mrs. S. V. Williams and Don Williams, accompanied by Ruth Surrage. duet, Ruel Ipsen, Leora Brown accompanied by Blanche Camp.

Guy Benson dedicated the grave.

Born in Oneida County, Jan. 15, 1884, Mr. Richards was a son of Edmund T. and Ann John Richards. He resided in Idaho until moving to Salt Lake City a year ago. He was a sheep herder by occupation.

Mr. Richards is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Morgan, Malad, and Mrs. Mary Thomas, Modesto, California, and one brother, Henry Richards, Clearfield, Utah.
