MARY MILDRED JONES PARRY
Mrs. Millie Jones Parry died at Pocatello
Mrs. Mildred (Millie) Jones Parry, age 77, died Thursday in a Pocatello hospital of a stroke.
Mrs. Parry was born Feb. 16, 1898, at St. John, a daughter of John L. and Margery Tovey Jones. She was married to Paul Parry Dec. 22, 1915, at St. John and the marriage was solemnized Sept. 19, 1923, in the Logan LDS Temple. Mr. Parry died June 22, 1959.
Mrs. Parry was an active member of the LDS Church and served as Primary teacher and as Relief Society visiting teacher for 20 years. She was a past president of American Legion Auxiliary, Ernest Jones Post No. 65, and was a volunteer worker for the Cancer Society.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters, Warren J., Spokane, Wash.; John P., Idaho Falls; William T., Ogden; Mrs. Forrest (LaDean)[sic] Dixon, Jerome; Mrs. Gordon (Barbara) Olson, Downey; 22 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, a brother, Cornelius, Malad; six sisters, Mrs. Nellie Richards, Mrs. Cleon (Hazel) Lusk, Mrs. Jane Jones, Mrs. Frank (Faye) Thomas, Malad; Mrs. Ann Owens, Ogden; Mrs. Margery Shoemaker, Salt Lake.
Bishop Phil Gillies[sic] officiated at funeral services Saturday in Malad Third LDS Ward Chapel. Family prayer was offered by William T. Parry; invocation, Bishop Forrest B. Dixon, and benediction, Gordon K. Olson. Speakers were Bishop Hubert Gleed, Bishop Gillies[sic] and Barbara P. Olson, who gave the obituary. The Madrigal Choir, directed by Phyllis Evans, presented two selections and Kristine P. Powell sang a solo. Prelude and postlude music was played by Trudy Ward, accompanists were Jeannine Davis and Jacqueline Parry.
At Malad City Cemetery, John P. Parry offered the dedicatory prayer.
Flowers were cared for by members of Malad Third Ward Relief Society, Ida Smith, president, and American Legion Auxiliary.
Grandsons served as honorary bearers, and casket bearers were Warren J. Parry, Forrest B. Dixon, John P. Parry, Gordon K. Olson, William T. Parry and Thomas J. Parry.
Benson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
