Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Fielding Chapel for John Owen, 53, who died August 22 at his home in Fielding of a heart attack.
Bishop Rex Richards officiated at the service.
Mr. Owen was born Jan. 2, 1909 in Salt Lake City, son of Edward and Mary Estella Bone Owen. The family moved from Salt Lake City to Malad and from here to Fielding where they have resided since 1917.
Mr. Owen Married Nina Thompson May 17, 1933 in the Logan LDS Temple. He served as a counselor in MIA in Fielding and also as a Sunday School teacher. At the time of his death he was ward clerk in the Fielding Ward.
He served as Mayor of Fielding for three terms.
Survivors include his widow, Fielding, the following sons and daughters: Earl, Richard (Dick), Mrs. Vern (Judith) Deakin, all of Fielding, Mrs. Thomas (Beverly) Grill of Ogden; 5 grandchildren; one sister, one brother, Mrs. R.A. (Lilly) Edgington, Salt Lake City; William Bolton Owen, California.
