
Margaret Pierce Camp (Birth – Aug. 26, 1887)
Margaret Pierce Camp, 95, died Friday (February 11, 1983) in Oneida Hospital.
She was born Aug. 26, 1887, in St. John to Thomas and Nettie Morgan Pierce. She grew up and was educated in St. John where the family had homesteaded a farm.
She married Alvin Morse Camp Feb. 28, 1917, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died May 5, 1964. She and her husband farmed and ranched for many years.
She was a member of the LDS Church and worked in the Relief Society. She also was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and was the last member of the original charter members. She was skilled in all types of handiwork and between the ages of 80 and 85, she made 100 quilts.
Survivors include two sons, Alvin Marion Camp, Salem, Ore., and William Peter Camp, Las Vegas, Nev.; five daughters, Mrs. Woodrow (Anne) Peterson, St. John; Mrs. Jerry (Neith) Nabes, Lomita, Calif.; Mrs. Ray (LaRue) Jones, Idaho Falls; Mrs. Ed (Carma) Morgan, Moscow; and Mrs. Dale (Melba) Hedstrom, Las Vegas, Nev.; 30 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Evan M. Pierce, Idaho Falls. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ethel, and four brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be noon Tuesday at the St. John LDS chapel with Bishop Dell Tuttle officiating. Friends may call Monday from 7-9 p.m. at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home in Malad and Tuesday prior to the services. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery.

Funeral services were held for Margaret Pierce Camp on Tuesday, February 15 (1983) in the St. John L.D.S. Ward Chapel with Bishop Dell Tuttle, officiating.
The family prayer was given by Ray W. Jones. Ed Morgan offered the invocation and Julie Hedstrom Damavandi gave the life sketch. Marilyn Moss Donehey and Robert Donehey sang “O’ My Father” and Bishop Harold Jones spoke.
Alysha Jones and Callie Ann Donehey sang “I Am A Child Of God” with Bishop Dell Tuttle giving remarks. Helen E. Jones sang “That Wonderful Mother Of Mine” and Don Roberts gave the benediction.
Donna Talbot played the prelude and postlude and Patsy Bybee and Donna Talbot were the accompanists.
Flowers were cared for by the Granddaughters and the St. John Relief Society. E Spence Horsley offered the dedicatory prayer.
Casket bearers were Douglas Camp, Larry Hedstrom, Farrell Christoffersen, Conley Christoffersen, Jedd Jones, Kerry Christoffersen, Jeffrey Hedstrom and Don Roberts.
