EVANS, JOHN E., September 15, 1912 – December 6, 1979

John E. “Bud” Evans, 67, died December 6, 1979 in the Veteran’s Hospital at Salt Lake City, Utah.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Benson Horsley Funeral Home with Bishop Wesley Crowther officiating.

Mr. Evans was born September 15, 1912, a son of John E. and Pheobe Thomas Evans. He spent his entire life in Malad except for 4 ½ years of military service during World War II. He attended the Malad schools.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, two sisters and two brothers. He never married.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Delta Bertram, Rosemead, CA; Bernice Aldous, Pocatello; a half brother, step-father, Chester R. Hughes; five nephews and four nieces.

Family prayer was given by Ren Dives; invocation, Carl Willie; vocal, Foster Ipsen; life sketch, Vickie Beghtel; talk, Reed Smith; vocal, Connie Budge and Lana Esplin; benediction, Bishop Gordon Crowther; prelude, postlude, Myra Jean John.

Burial and concluding rites were held at the Malad City Cemetery. Raiford Benson dedicated the grave and military rites were by the American Legion. Funeral arrangements were by Benson Horsley Funeral Home. Casket bearers were Jay Tolman, Ronnie Evans, Larry Dives, Jerry Aldous, Ted Bowen, Lamont Wakley.
