FORMER MALADIAN DIES AT BOISE

Mrs. Zilla Lewis Thomas, 67, wife of the late Judge Darwin W. Thomas, Justice of the Idaho Supreme Court from 1950 until 1954, died July (?), 1962 in a Boise hospital following a brief illness.

Born Jan. 4, 1895 at Malad, she married Darwin W. Thomas here Dec. 22, 1915. The couple went to Boise in 1937 when Mr. Thomas was named assistant State Attorney General. She had made her home in Boise.

Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile.

Surviving are a son, Darwin Thomas of Boise; one daughter, Mrs. C=Geraldine Brennan of Boise; a brother, George H. Lewis of Twin Falls; two sisters, Mrs. D.C. Ray of Pocatello and Mrs. T.D. Davis of Salt Lake City; and nine grandchildren.

Services for Mrs. Thomas were conducted at the Schrieber and Gibson Chapel at Boise. Rev. H. Stanley Holman and the Order of Eastern Star officiated.

Those attending the funeral in Boise from this area were: Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy W. Thomas, Pocatello; Mrs. Sylvia Stratton, Mr. and Mrs. Mace Johnson and Debbie, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Thyra Taylor, Mr. Theras Lewis and LaRee, Mr. Elmer Lewis, Malad; Mr. Henry Lewis, Roy.

Graveside services for Mrs. Thomas were held in Malad on Tuesday. Prayer at the mortuary was offered by W.H. Thomas, Jr., Ogden; W.W. Thomas was in charge at the cemetery and offered the dedicatory prayer and J.D. “Cy” Price was the speaker. The Eastern Star were in charge of the flowers. Casket bearers, nephews of Mrs. Thomas, were: Boyd Conley, Terry Conley, Brent Thomas, DeVon Thomas, Theras Lewis and Stanley Commons.
