FUNERAL H ELD AT OGDEN FOR WILLIAM THORPE, 70

Funeral services were held Monday at Ogden for William Thorpe, 70, who died June 21, 1967 of natural causes.

Mr. Thorpe was born at Pleasantview, ID on Jan. 1, 1897, a son of Joseph and Mary Mason Thorpe. He married Rachel Hamblin Nov. 12, 1919 at Malad. She died Nov. 14, 1965. He was employed at Hill Air Force Base for 26 years.

A member of the LDS Church, he was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Utah Peace Officers Assn. He was a veteran of World War I.

Surviving are a son, William L., Los Angeles, CA; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Thomas, Pleasantview; Edgar, Malad; Mrs. Joseph (Elizabeth) Josephson, Logan; Mrs. Thomas (Ann) Jones, Mrs. J.C. (Catherine) Hartley, Ogden; Mrs. Daryon (Urilla) Christiansen, Layton, UT; Mrs. Joseph (Myrtle) Facer, Tyhee.

Interment was in Washington Heights Memorial Park, Ogden.
