Williams L. Stokes

William Leroy Stokes, 77, of Snowville, died June 11,1983, at his home. He was born March 17, 1906, in Bothwell, a son of Heber and Mary Frances Anderson Stokes. He married Edith Evelyn Mills Nov. 10, 1924, in Brigham City. He had lived in Black Pine, Idaho, before moving to Snowville. He was a member of the Curlew LDS Ward. He had worked as a trapper most of his life.

SNOWVILLE–William Leroy Stokes, 77, of Snowville, died Saturday, June 11, 1983, at his home. He was born March 17, 1906, in Bothwell, Utah, a son of Heber and Mary Frances Anderson Stokes. He married Edith Evelyn Mills on Nov. 10, 1924, in Brigham City. He was reared and educated in Black Pine, Idaho, and later moved to Snowville. He was a member of the Curlew LDS Ward. He had worked as a trapper most of his life.

Surviving are his widow of Snowville; six sons, Heber Jay Stokes, Magna; Thomas L. Stokes, St. Anthony, Idaho; DeLoy (Bill) Stokes, Coalville; Jim Stokes, Stone, Idaho; Ferron L. Stokes, Snowville; Boyd W. Stokes, Malad, Idaho; 23 grandchildresn [grandchildren], 21 great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are one brother and two sisters, Robert Stokes, Salmon, Idaho; Mrs. David (Mildred) Anderson, Ogden; Mrs. Lawrence (Rhoda) Higley, Burley, Idaho.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Curlew Ward Chapel in Snowville with Bishop Steve Morgan officiating.

Friends may call at Rogers Mortuary in Tremonton Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the church in Snowville Wednesday from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Burial in the Snowville Cemetery.
