Leunna Garbanati Stokes, (1924)

LEUNNA GARBANATI STOKES
SNOWVILLE – Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Leunna Garbanati Stokes, 76, went home to her Father in Heaven on November 12, 2000, following cancer surgery at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City.

Leunna was born on March 26, 1924, in Stone, Idaho to James Henry and Ethel Wade Garbanati. She was married on July 25, 1939 to Lyle A. Stokes in the Logan LDS Temple. He died on February 23, 1973.
She was a member of the Curlew Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served faithfully in many callings.
Leunna is survived by her children, Larry G. Stokes of Ogden; Thayne (Charlene) Stokes of Ogden; Brent (Debra) Stokes of Snowville; Shanna (Wayman) Yarbrough of Declo, ID; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Dwight Stokes; her granddaughter, Lori Lee Stokes; a brother, George Garbanati; three sisters Norma Parke, Beth Cutler and Eunice Garbanati.

“Grandma Stokes” will be missed by so many who loved and cared for her.

Funeral Services will be held 12:00 noon on Friday, November 17 at the Curlew LDS Ward Chapel, 75 North 100 East, Snowville. Family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 16 at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Friday from 10:30 – 11:45 a.m. at the Church interment in the Snowville Cemetery.
